It’s my preference that I don’t love cumin. I do not hate it, but I also don’t want it to be the star of the show. For me, this is the perfect seasoning for anyone who does not want it to be the star, I still want it at the party, I just don’t need it to be the center of attention.
I have customized this easy taco seasoning blend to my preference, If you prefer more spice, then add more cayanan or chili pepper flakes. I like th cayanan because it is such a warm heat that will sneak up on you, but if properly executed will not overwhelm.
I like red chili pepper flakes because they are such a great burst of flavor for anything you want to elevate with a little heat!

Ingredients
3/4 cup Chili powder
2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
6 teaspoons cumin
6 teaspoons paprika
4 tsp Garlic powder
4 tsp onion powder
3 tsp corn starch
2 tsp black pepper
3 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp cayenne

- Supplies
Directions
- Start with a clean pint size jar.

- I use my jarring funnel to make sure I don’t make a mess.

- Once all ingredients are added, shake vigorously to combine.

- If giving as a gift, leave unshaken for a cute, layered appearance.

- For beef tacos: Mix two tablespoons of the mix with one teaspoon of salt and add to browned ground beef.

Notes
- Printing a cute label and adding a bow would make this a great gift.
- I use the same amount per pound of cooked diced or shredded chicken.
- For fajitas, I add one tablespoon to a pound of shrimp, steak, or chicken.
