Easy Taco Pizza Recipe Ingredients
The Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough is such a quick and easy ingredient to have on hand. Always grab one or two with your grocery order and the possibilities are endless.
This recipe calls for cream cheese, you do not need to go name brand here as you are mixing this in with other ingredients, so name brand not needed. If you were using it for your yummy bakery bagels, I would say go name brand, but as an ingredient, I always get the generic.
Same thing with sour cream, this isn’t the star of the show, so generic works here too.
I do use name brand ranch seasoning, I will bet the store brand is just as good though, but I keep the name brand on hand for when I also have to make ranch dressing at home as well.
When it comes to the taco meat, beef or turkey work just fine. If you want to cut out a few calories, I would absolutely go with the turkey. If you know you prefer beef, stick with the beef, but do make sure you drain it, you do not want this pizza to be greasy!
This recipe also calls for taco seasoning. I personally think my recipe for taco seasoning is the best, but if you do not have time to put this recipe together, a packet of the store bought will work just fine.
For the cheese, I do use mild shredded cheddar. You can absolutely get creative here and use a blend, or pepper jack, or just sharp cheddar. The possibilities are endless!
I personally would not exclude the tortilla chips. This adds another layer that is crunchy and delicious and really makes this a whole delicious pizza.
How to prepare …
It’s all in the name! This easy taco pizza recipe comes together quick and easy!
You start by browning your beef and adding your taco seasoning. Let that cool for a little bit while you prepare everything else.
Next you are going to make your dough, which is simply unrolling and smoothing out your can of Pillsbury pizza crust. Make sure you bake it till it is golden!
Next you make your cream cheese sause. Don’t be shy with the ranch seasoning, this is it’s time to shine! Make sure you whip the cream cheese, seasoning and ranch powder till it is nice and smooth.
After you have smoothed all that tasty ranch sauce onto the dough, you get to start building. Always start with the meat, then add your layers from there.
I add the cheese next then it’s anyone’s guess. My preferred toppings include lettuce, black olives, tomatoes, onions, tortilla chips and hot sauce.
If you have picky eaters, you can always just have the sauce, meat and cheese, then let everyone build their own with toppings with options like, jalapenos, guacamole, lettuce, onion, olives, chips, hot sauce, salsa, and more!

Notes
- This pizza makes a great appetizer for gatherings, think veggie pizza but cooler.
- You can use crescent roll dough to make this as well.
- Homemade pizza dough works well with this recipe too.
- Add some jalapenos for a spicy kick.
