Ingredients for Hearty Chicken Noodle Casserole
Let’s talk about the ingredients. I use my recipe for easy shredded chicken. This makes very quick work of preparing the chicken, which is the hardest part, so this will save you some serious time.
Next week have egg noodles. I personally prefer the wide ones, but any version will do.
Then you have the controversial canned soups. I personally don’t mind using these delicious recipe helpers every now and then. All things in moderation!
The real star of the show here is the Ritz crackers! Something about blending the Ritz with butter and using it as a delicious topping that really takes this dish to the next level. I like to add some pepper to the topping too just for that added kick!
This dish comes together quick and easy too. The steps involved are simple, just mix the filling ingredients together, add the noodles and chicken then top with your crackers. It does not get much easier than that!

Chicken Noodle Casserole

2 Cups Shredded Chicken (My recipe for easy shredded chicken)
6 Ounces Egg Noodles
2 Cans Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Cup Sour Cream
½ Cup Milk
1 Cup Frozen Carrot, Peas combo
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 Cup crumbled Ritz crackers
1 Stick of Butter (real butter)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Boil Egg noodles according to package.
- In a large bowl combine the soup with the sour cream and milk, add salt and pepper to taste.

- Add in the chicken, Peas and carrots and cooked noodles.

- In a separate saucepan melt butter.

- Add crumbled Ritz and a dash of pepper.

- Pour soup mixture into a casserole dish or 9×13 pan. Sprinkle Ritz crumbles on top.

- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, till toppings is golden and casserole is bubbly.
