These Champion Chipotle Chicken Burgers are going to blow your mind. So full of flavor, with the smokey and spiciness of chipotle, the depth of flavor will have you coming back for more.
Jump to RecipeI love a good burger and these chicken burgers are the perfect solution to your cravings. Paired with a pepper jack cheese, if you are a fan of flavor these burgers are for you.
I love this recipe because you should get 12 to 13 burger patties from it and if your math is mathing, a 4 to 5 pound tray of chicken breasts is roughly $12 at the grocery store, bonus points if they are on sale, which is rare.
So only using 3 pounds of that, you are basically getting a burger for $.67 and if you add in the cost of the rest of the ingredients each burger costs around $1.40. You simply cannot beat that price. Cheaper than hamburger!
Making the Champion Chipotle Chicken Burgers
Okay, so you can use ground chicken. I don’t recommend this as it is not the same consistency and it is way more expensive. If you have a decent food processor, I would say get comfortable with grinding your own chicken, you will never go back.
It is important to begin by pluverizing your onion first in the food processor as it creates a more uniform texture.
Then you can add the rest of the filler ingredients. Be sure to add the oil as chicken breasts have virtually no fat in them, so the addition of the oil will keep these burgers moist.
All in all, this is a very easy recipe to make and meal prep. I typically make these once every couple of months and just keep a bag of patties in the freezer for work from home lunches or a quick and easy week night dinner.
The entire process takes me about 20 minutes and I love how much this makes, perfect for a BBQ or quick and easy meal.
I promise you will love the addition of the chipotle mayo, which is standalone a great thing for the fridge, it is awesome on cheeseburgers, and just about anything!
For your cheese selection, I really think the pepper jack cheese makes them, but provolone would be my second choice if I did not have any pepper jack, followed by a nice sharp cheddar.
Make sure to add the onion, tomato, and lettuce, and if you have pickle lovers, these would pair nicely with them, even if just on the side.
